Pearl carefully adjusted the sparkly leotard and tights, peering at herself in the mirror, and at Trucy, who was standing behind her with a satisfied look on her face.
“You don’t think it looks too flashy?” Pearl asked, biting her lip. “Or– or too weird?”
“No way!” Trucy leaned in and put her arms around Pearl’s shoulders,planting a kiss on her cheek. “You make a perfect magician’s assistant!”
Pearl flushed.
“I’ve been a legal assistant before, but never a magician’s assistant.”
“Relax, you’ll do great! All you have to do is be distracting– and you’re great at distracting me!”
